About Shelly
Shelly is a seasoned and compassionate mental health professional with a wealth of experience in helping individuals, couples and families navigate life’s challenges. With a Master’s degree in psychology from Moody Theological Seminary and licensure as a Mental Health Counselor, Shelly brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and Christian values to her practice.
Originally from Michigan, where she began her career as a Limited License Psychologist, Autism Assessor, outpatient therapist, and college professor, Shelly now calls Florida home. Her diverse background includes work in various settings, from outpatient clinics and crisis intervention services to community-based mental health services and private practice.
Additionally, Shelly is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a groundbreaking eye movement therapy that offers consistent relief for anxiety, phobias, addictions, and trauma in an average of just three sessions.
Shelly’s approach is rooted in a Christ-centered framework, integrating Christian principles with professional psychotherapy when requested. She believes that the Bible provides essential truths and principles for thriving in daily life and that God desires to restore every aspect of our lives, including our relationships. This philosophy underpins her mission to help clients discover the life God intended for them.
Shelly creates a non-judgmental atmosphere where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, feelings, and relationships. She is dedicated to providing the tools and support necessary for clients to embark on their journey of exploration and positive change.
